Dr. Lan's research is revolved around colloids, supramolecular chemistry and interfaces, aiming to develop Nature-inspired adaptive materials & systems for microchemical engineering. Recent research projects include: 1) the synthesis of polymeric colloids with advanced structures such as raspberry-like colloids, microcapsules and Janus particles for applications in optical materials, drug-delivery and emulsification; 2) directed self-assembly of colloids for hierarchical colloidal materials based on supramolecular interactions (DNA complexation, cucurbit[n]url host-guest interactions); 3) polymeric microreactors for sustainable catalysis.
