Webcast - KTN - Nature Inspired Solutions meet industry challenges event

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN – part of Innovate UK) has established a new UK Special Interest Group (SIG), bringing together solution providers, academics and industry partners that could benefit from Nature Inspired Solutions. The SIG can be joined via the Nature Inspired Solutions Linkedin page.

The CNIE (UCL Centre for Nature-Inspired Engineering) have had an ongoing collaboration with KTN over the year on Nature-Inspired Engineering, which has helped to provide a foundational vision for this SIG.

On Tuesday 9th July, was a launch event - Nature Inspired Solutions meet industry challenges. The event sold out within an hour, and, over 150 people joined the webcast. The webcast was recorded and can be viewed on Youtube.

Professor Marc-Olivier Coppens, Director of the CNIE, was invited as a special guest speaker and presented a keynote lecture to open the event on Nature-inspired Solutions for Engineering - A Transformative Methodology for Innovation. Malica Schmidt (PhD student in the CNIE, from the NICE research group) also give an oral presentation on Nature-Inspired, Multi-Functional Surface Coatings for Human Spaceflight.
