Professor Coppens gives Inaugural Lecture at Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften
16 February 2020
On Friday 14th February, Professor Coppens was honoured to give his inaugural lecture at Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften (Saxon Academy of Sciences) to which he was elected in 2018 for his work on Nature Inspired Solutions for Engineering. The Academy counts Planck, Ostwald, Hertz, Heisenberg, Debye, Chadwick as former members, and has little over 200 distinguished members in total so this is a great honour indeed.
Professor Coppens' talk at the Academy in Leipzig (Germany) centred around his work at the CNIE and the fundamentals of diffusion - efficient, scalable transport phenomena across length scales being so important in nature and technology.
