New vacancy: CNIE Research Laboratories Manager

The Centre of Nature Inspired Engineering is seeking to recruit a new Research Laboratories Manager. The post holder will provide technical support combined with managerial responsibilities to maintain a high level of customer service to the Department of Chemical Engineering.
The person will manage a wide range of research facilities (including Small Angle X-ray Scattering, SAXS, N2/Argon/CO2 adsorption and thermal analysis, etc.), for both the Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE, www.cnie.org.uk) and the Department.
Oversee the smooth running of the research facilities in the Centre of Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE’s) laboratories. This involves hands-on technical support and dealing with day to day requirements in those areas, including care, maintenance, repair of analytical instrumentation and apparatus. The research (CNIE) facilities houses ~£3m worth of equipment, which are heavily used by many PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the Department and, in addition, by researchers from other UCL departments and outside of the university.
This postholder will manage a wide range of research facilities (including Small Angle X-ray Scattering, SAXS, N2/Argon/CO2 adsorption and thermal analysis, etc) for both the Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE, www.cnie.org.uk) and the Department, providing support to the research students, postdoctoral research fellows and academic staff.
Candidates must have ability to manage a team of technicians and maintain the service level on offer to the Department and proven track record of day-to-day maintenance of a laboratory environment.
