New Guest Researchers join CNIE

14 November 2019

CNIE would like to welcome Frank Chen and Shuman Xu, our new guest researchers. Frank is a second year PhD university student from China University of Petroleum-Beijing (CUPB). His current research interest is taking benefit of the unexpected fluid transport behaviour occurring at nanoscale to propose new routes for enhancing oil and gas recovery in unconventional reservoirs. Frank will be working under the guidance of Prof. Marc-Olivier Coppens.

Shuman Xu is third year PhD student from Zhejiang University, where CNIE Director Professor Coppens holds a Qiushi Chair Professorship. Her current research interest is in the adsorption and diffusion process and its influence on catalytic properties in hierarchical zeolites. Her project in CNIE focuses on the nature of surface barriers to transport in hierarchical zeolites also under the guidance of Dr Tobias Weissenberger.

Both Shuman and Frank will be staying with us for 1 year sponsored by the Chinese Scholarship Council. For more information visit Frank's profile here and Shuman here.
