Matthew Chin presents at the UCL Grand Challenges Showcase 2018

24 April 2018

On Wednesday 8 April, UCL hosted an exhibition of posters and films to showcase projects that have been supported by the Grand Challenges.

PhD researcher Matthew Chin was awarded a grant by UCL Grand Challenges ("Transformative Technology" category) last summer for a cross-Faculty project he initiated.

The project, entitled ‘Transforming Immunotherapy with Nature-Inspired Engineering’, is in collaboration with EngD student Joseph Harvey (supervised by Prof Nicolas Szita; UCL Department of Biochemical Engineering).

Matthew is working with the Department of Biochemical Engineering to design a microfluidic platform to process immune cells for cancer therapy. During the event, Matthew presented a poster outlining what he has done so far.

The event was open to all UCL students, researchers, staff, alumni and members of the public.

About the UCL Grand Challenges

Since 2009, the UCL Grand Challenges have changed the way our researchers investigate the world’s problems. This approach has fostered cross-disciplinary research at UCL on a large scale and we aim to expand upon that success.
