Marc-Olivier Coppens gives seminars at Fluidization XVI conference, Zhejiang University and ECUST
24 June 2019
Prof Marc-Olivier Coppens gave a seminar, “A NICE Approach to Fuel Cell Design” on 14 June 2019 at the State Key Laboratory for Chemical Engineering, at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in Shanghai, led by Professor Xing-Gui Zhou, where Dr Guanghua Ye (formerly in the CNIE) is now Te Ping Associate Professor.
On 15 June 2019, they discussed the new Joint ECUST-UK International Research Laboratory on Smart and Optimal Manufacturing in Petrochemical Industry, led by Professor Feng Qian, with Professor Yang Tang. UCL Chemical Engineering is a partner in this new collaboration, led on the UCL side by Professors David Bogle and Marc-Olivier Coppens. A key objective is collaborations related to chemical engineering and energy sustainability, and virtual manufacturing, promoting modelling, plant-wide optimization and control in process systems engineering via knowledge-based automation.
Whilst visiting China, Prof Coppens also presented lectures at the following locations:
Fluidization XVI conference – Guilin, China – 27th May
Zhejiang University – Hangzhou, China - 3rd / 4th June
As Qiushi Chair Professor of Zhejiang University, Marc-Olivier gave two lectures to graduate students
- Nature-Inspired Chemical Engineering (NICE) - Part 1: Principles
- Nature-Inspired Chemical Engineering (NICE) - Part 2: Applications
