Marc-Olivier Coppens appointed Corresponding Member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences

Professor Marc-Olivier Coppens, CNIE Director, has been elected a Corresponding Member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences (Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften) in Germany. He was put forward by Professor Jörg Kärger, University of Leipzig for his work on the fundamentals of diffusion, and on nature-inspired engineering.
The Academy was founded in 1846 and counts many renowned scientists and engineers, now and in the past (e.g., Planck, Heisenberg, Ostwald, Chadwick, Debye, Hertz and Müller, to name a few). Professor Coppens will receive his Membership of the Academy at the Spring Opening Session on 13 April 2018 in Leipzig.
The Saxon Academy of Sciences brings together more than 200 scientists of all disciplines to exchange views, examine methods and results of specialist studies in interdisciplinary discussion and engage in long-term research.
