Fluid mixing study in collaboration with Zhejiang University appears in Ind. Eng. Chem. Res.
10 February 2020
A new article has appeared in the ACS journal Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, resulting from a collaboration with Zhejiang University, and authored by MSc student Shuxian Jiang, who is advised by Professors Jiajun Wang and Lian-Fang Feng (Zhejiang University) and Marc-Olivier Coppens (UCL CNIE).
The article is titled: Hydrodynamics and Local Turbulent Mixing of Submerged, Parallel Liquid Jets: Experiments and CFD Simulations. It reports the remarkable benefits of triple-jet systems to shorten the mixing length between fluids, and discusses the importance of the jet spacing. These results are of fundamental importance for the optimal design of nature-inspired, fractal injectors for scalable fluid mixing, which will be the subject of upcoming articles.
