CNIE Hosts Two Day Advisory Board Conference and Workshop

24 January 2020

The Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE) are greatly looking forward to welcoming our valued Advisory Board members, co-investigators, collaborators, academics, industrial partners, students and guests on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th January at BMA House in London’s Bloomsbury.

A fantastic opportunity for the centre to showcase its groundbreaking research, network with our peers and partners, discuss strategy for the future and create potential funding opportunities, it is always a pleasure to host this event.

On Monday 27th from 9:30am – 2:30pm, we will see a series of fascinating talks describing the various aspects of the CNIE’s work and collaborations – within UCL and beyond.

The day finishes with a tour of our state of the art labs in UCL’s Roberts Building, followed by an evening drinks reception from 6:15pm at the Ambassadors Bloomsbury Hotel, at which we will be lucky enough to hear a talk from renowned architect Anna Liu from Tonkin Liu.

Tuesday 28th will start at 9:15am with an introduction to the day from Dr Celia Caulcott (UCL Vice-Provost, Enterprise), after which we will be holding a Nature Inspired Solutions for Engineering workshop and sandpit, facilitated by Dr Eugenio Zapata-Solvas, Strategic Research Facilitator for UCL’s Faculty of Engineering and Dr Matt Davis, UCL BEAMS Director of Research Coordination & Planning, and a poster presentation from our students and colleagues.
