2017 AIChE Annual Meeting
25 October 2017
Members of the Department of Chemical Engineering are attending this year's 2017 AIChE Annual Meeting on October 29 - November 3 in the Minneapolis Convention Centre, Minneapolis, US.
The AIChE Annual Meeting is the premier educational forum for chemical engineers interested in innovation and professional growth.
At the event, the Nature Inspired Chemical Engineering (NICE) research group will present on the following topics:
Ayomi Perera Investigation of Factors That Induce Cristobalite Formation during Titanosilicate Synthesis and Their Potential Impact on Heterogeneous Catalysis and Nacre-Inspired Composite Gels for Biomedical Applications
Panos Trogadas Nature-Inspired Flow Fields for PEM Fuel Cells
Marc-Olivier Coppens A Nature-Inspired Approach to Aid the Understanding and Improve the Performance of Fluidized Beds, and The Role of Surface Barriers As Dominant Transport Mechanism in Hierarchically Structured Zeolites-- Application to the Alkylation of Benzene with Ethylene (Presented by Sanjeev M Rao of Sabic), and Nature Inspired Chemical Engineering: Development of a New Course on an Emerging Topic (Presented by Daniel Lepek of the Cooper Union, and in collaboration with NICE group member Michele Lynch)
PSRI Lectureship Award in Fluidization
Prof. Marc-Olivier Coppens will receive the PSRI Lectureship Award in Fluidization, presented at the Particle Technology Award Lecture.
The PSRI Lectureship Award in Fluidization recognises Marc-Olivier’s outstanding scientific and technical research contributions with impact in the field of fluidization and fluid-particle flow systems.
He will also give a lecture at the ceremony on PSRI Lectureship Award in Fluidization: Sand, Waves, Trees and People: A NICE Journey in Fluidization.
UCL Chemical Engineering Reception
UCL are hosting a reception event at the Hilton Minneapolis, to promote the Department of Chemical Engineering and its achievements over the past year.
We look forward to welcoming friends and guests to the event.
